This Really Is The Second One I Purchased - Trial Antivirus Software Critique

By Gabriel Murphy

Each time I remove it and reinstalled the Norton replacement product. All of the other software packages had two short-fallings. I then proceeded to reboot the computer, and run another full system scan (out of curiosity). The second scan took 5 hours and 4 minutes (580,631 total items scanned) with 43 risks detected and resolved! I got my rebate money in just 3-4 weeks. I seem to recall that McAfee took 3-4 months to fulfill my rebate when I last purchased from them.

Even while it is scanning in the back ground, I still have not had any slowdown issues with my computer. Just as a side note, it was cheaper going to Amazon and purchasing the 1 user, 3 PC disc, than it was going to the Norton web site and renewing online.

I also like the 3 PC capabilities. This is the second edition of Norton Security Suite that I have purchased from Amazon. This program installed easily and quickly. I really feel secure with this program because a virus actually "killed" my last computer.

Good bargain for your money. Cost a lot less than buying directly from Symantec.

It works great to keep your computer running smoothly. There are improvements over the 2010 version, but what strikes me as the best feature, it works in the back ground, keeping you or anyone using your computer out of harms way. So I decided to give it a try. I work on computers and this is the software I recommend to people.

This version of Norton is much better than previous versions of a few years ago. Run on an old Pentium 4 XP sp2 machine. I shared it with a friend, and we both love how it seems to run smoothly and catches everything. After that it wouldn't do anything except update itself. I could run the activation again, and could see on their website that I was registered, but it still said it was expired. Numerous settings and menus might confuse inexperienced users. Norton gives me the security that its title implies. These are very vanilla systems with almost nothing installed on them. The web sites that have crashed are not consistent and by no means dangerous sites.

The best buys, in my view, are Norton Internet Security 3-User license, CCleaner (it's free!), Diskeeper and for backup of files onto a NAS, Memeo Backup Professional. I use Acronis True Image for image backups, but I find it unreliable (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't).
